In one of the more bizarre stories you’ll read on this website, Mick Philpott – a dad accused of killing six of his 17 kids in a blaze told jurors yesterday he later took his wife dogging — to help them cope.
Philpott said: “It was a way of blocking the mental image of what happened to my children.
“Sex is one way of dealing with it. In fact it’s a massive way of dealing with it.” Philpott, 56, told the trial he and wife Mairead, 31, also took cannabis to dull the agony.
He added: “We were stoned. I was finding it very difficult to cope and sex and smoking cannabis was one way. My head was gone.”
Jobless Philpott said the dogging session took place in a park in his leopard-skin lined minibus. He added the couple had been dogging there before — with Mairead having to have an abortion after she became pregnant with a stranger’s baby.
